Historic Electric Trolley to Operate for Nine Days at Williams Grove

For the first time since 1938, an electric trolley will operate in Cumberland County. Come experience a piece of transportation history!

The Rockhill Trolley Museum, located in Rockhill Furnace, PA invites visitors to experience a ride aboard Porto 172, one of our historic electric trolleys, during the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association’s 9-day Steam Show, taking place August 29th through September 6th at Williams Grove, near Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

This special opportunity is made possible through a partnership between the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association, the Middletown & Hummelstown Railroad, and Rockhill Trolley Museum.

Built in Porto, Portugal, in 1929, Porto 172 is a unique “semi-convertible” trolley featuring windows that can be raised into the ceiling, creating an open-air riding experience.

Rockhill Trolley Museum is operated entirely by volunteers (residing from 5 minutes to 5 hours away) who donate their time, talents, and resources. New members and volunteers are always welcome to help continue the mission of preserving the history and operation of electric trolley cars.

Here are the dates and the hours the trolley will be operating at Williams Grove:

August 29 through September 6:
Saturdays: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Sundays: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 12 Noon to 6:00 PM
Thursday & Friday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
