Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys Provides First Installment of Grant for Restoration of PCC#2743 To 1950's-Era Green and Cream
Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys founding members Bill Monaghan and Harry Donahue are shown presenting a check for $2500.00 to Joel Salomon, President of Rockhill Trolley Museum at the RTY Board meeting in January.
This grant from FPT will be matched by a grant from the 20th Century Rail Foundation, which will also match further grants from FPT to the amount of $10,000.
This check represents the first installment of the $10,000 which FPT has raised for this current project.
Body and prep work on 2743 will commence in May or June, will the goal or returning 2743 as close as possible to its late 1950's appearance in the familiar PTC green and cream.
We hope to have the project completed in time for the 2014 PCC Day at RTY.
FPT thanks all of those who have supported our events and efforts in raising the funding for the 2743 project.
It can’t get much worse than this!
